Reflexed Speaker box with two drive units and an acoustically coupled bass radiator (ABR) Specification: (see KEF C Series Leaflet 10/73/C- 3) Dimensions: 600 X 360 X 300 mm Internal Volume: 45 litres Weight: 14.97 kg Nominal Impedance: 8 ohms Specific Frequency Response: + or - 3db 40-30,000 Hz measured at 1m on the axis of the HF unit in anechoic conditions Dividing Frequencies: 45 Hz (acoustically coupled) and 3,500 Hz Sensitivity: 15 watts into 8 ohms produces 96 db at 1 metre in anechoic conditions. Rated maximum power: 30 watts Room size: Up to 200 cubic metres Notes: Early Cadenza had ABRs with foam rather than rubber collars. These unfortunately disinintegrate with age. It is highly unlikely that any will have survived in good condition into the 21st century. If it is found to be impossible to get an ABR repaired a good alternative is to obtain a similarly sized B139 and remove the magnet from the back of the unit. The B139 without the magnet can then be used as an ABR. |
