For an MkI version, the age is such that capacitors may have drifted seriously. I've had with a Calinda and 104 pair that sounded muffled. Some capacitors had drifted by more than 50-60%.

So, sinc ...

I have a circuit diagram of an active xo for the R105.2 and also a graph of the frequency response printed on KEF "stationary" naming circuit EE28/A/1 issue 2 with a date of 6.1.82 and signe ...

Intrigued to read you are adding ferrofluid to the T27. It was not designed to use ferrofluid. The addition may spoil the sound or may tame it a bit, as many complain it's rather bright.

For the 1 ...

Speaking of "emulating" the design, there can be much more flexibility in the design.
One aspect that one should consider is that Falcon acoustics offer brand new B1110 SP1003 and T27 SP10 ...

Oh my!
I bet the guy is also proud of what they did.
I ran a simulation on WinISD just to see how the response would change by a (guesswork) 5cm port 10cm long.
It would create a 1-1.5dB bump at a ...

I brought back to life a pair of 105 original version. They sounded like I'd never put them aside. But then came the 107. I like the tightness and richness of the upright bass more on the 107. But the ...

OK, so it looks like for the coaxial tweeters, naming came from the VC size where for all other drivers, it came from the dome or cone size.

The NT19 name comes from the size, in the same way as B200 means bass unit 200mm and B160 means the same but for 160mm.

Replacing an NT25 with an NT19 may be a bit adventurous or not. You may have ...

Hi, I'm trying to compile a list, rather a cross reference between SP numbers and descriptions as well as systems in which they were used. As far as real specs and equivalences, that's rather tough to ...

You may know that Andrew Jones, formerly with KEF, after a brief stint with Pioneer, moved on to ELAC.

I just saw they offer a new range of loudspeakers, sporting a concentric / coaxial midrange/t ...

What happened to the original tweeters? If they only have hardened / dried ferrofluid, that's a relatively easy fix that's totally feasible. And you keep the original "character" of the loud ...

Just to bring an example, I re-created a pair of 107s only having the domes and original crossovers. I didn't have the boxes as the previous owner threw them away after a flood. Sad

I created draw ...

Hello, welcome and season's greetings.

I liked your post, up to the point where you started the discussion about breaking down the 104ab pair to make a smaller speaker pair.

Thanks for the KUBE curves. I have mk1.

I had that issue with bright treble before adding the KUBE. The parametric equalizer had been set for -3dB beyond 5kHz and that tamed it enough. Thought it w ...
