PostForum: KEF Speakers from the 1970s   Posted: Sat Oct 22, 2011 2:47 am   Subject: KEF R107 with DEQX
Since replacing tweeters I have not been able to eq them sufficiently with the KUBE107 - the new spec tweeters seem too efficient and can't be tuned back far enough.

I have acquired a DEQX and prop ...

The woofer surrounds were non-existant when I got them. Now re-foamed.

X-over caps look OK, haven't measured them yet though.

Ooops sorry - altered topic and posts to correct model number error ! Should be DEQ2496.

I can still use the KUBE-107 for the bass end ! I think the DEQ ignores freqs below 150Hz (or so) on it's a ...

As I've had little (ie 'no') luck in getting specifics of KUBE107 setup, schematics, and/or R107 x-over details, may try my DEQ2496 (usually used in a PA rig) on my 107s.

However I don't think th ...

I'm still after whatever info of KUBE 107.

KUBE alternative could be a Behringer DEQ 2496, but the auto EQ does not work (or attempt to) at LF IIRC...

Presumjably there are already L-pad resistors on the x-over pcb, so it should be just a matter of changing those .

Still looking for KUBE-107 schematics so I can do it in there instead though .... ...

Yoiu don't need the 'original capacitors' - you just need the proper capacitance and voltage ratings, which are printed on them.

You should be able to easily locate capacitors of equivalent or bet ...

The R107 crossover seems to be identical to the 'factory' one labelled (somewhere else) as R107-2.

I am still after the HF cross-over, as I need to pad down the tweeters ( the newer HF iver seems m ...

I picked up a KUBE 107 on Ebay a few months ago, so there are a few floating around out there !

Just about to upgrade the TL072s to OPA2604s, though don't feel any pressing need.

I disagree. It is possible to be largely objective in these matters, not totally subjective.

And yes, ADAMs, Genelecs, JBLs, etc can sound like wasps stinging you in the ear.

That would be super. FWIW I can scan A3 directly to PDF for you, but I'm in New Zealand !

Also after schem of the 'top' crossover, but I guess I can more easily trace that for myself...

3 knobs on front, and phono jacks (not flying leads). I guess that makes it a Mk1.1 !

Will do the photo thing tomorrow, but two pairs of presets towards the rear marker MF and HF, and two unlabe ...
