And you are right, it was hell getting the gunk out from the gap, I used wooden tooth picks and the isopropyl.

I believe that the answer is both. The fabric used in the T33 dome is not completely sealed and in time allows the FF liquid part to escape leaving behind only the solid material.

The ferrofluid in my T33 has completly dried out, I have remove the voice coil and cleand the gunk around it and inside the magnet cavity.
