I'd agree with your sentiments in total. Why do TLs sound wrong in Oz?

If you connect a 1.5volt battery to the terminals, the cones will move outwards when the + wire is conected to the + side of the battery. If it moves in then you have found the neg.

re cab design, I personally would be looking at a T-Line design for best bass response.For a fs of 35hz a folded line of 1.95m should do the trick nicely.

Huh, I used to call my Zero 100 "Rumblemaster".
Changing the plinth to a decent wooden one helped a little.
