Yes they were sequential.

Production proper would normally start at 1001.

So the higher number is older.

Wouldn't it be the reverse?

1001 is older than 1002, and thus 2001 is older than ...

No, I havent. I havent opened the cabinets yet, but the speakers play. It would be a long shot for it to be something other than burned out led's on 2 separate speakers.

The wire is rather thin, but the wire in the core of the speaker is much more so. So is the winding of the inductors.
