I have the first Model One, the LF drivers have foam surrounds.

The ones on mine did perish but I had them professionally re-foamed.
Tweeters still sound fine.

Woo got the drivers back today... One thing to note, if any one looses output to the LF driver it could be the big inductor that's got a dry joint.

It's funny how you can still pick up 104aB's very cheap yet the BC1's commend quite a bit of money now. Probs mainly cos the Spendor name and the BBC connection.

Couldn't the slight dip in the mids on the 104 be evened out a bit using the acoustic counter control?
Yes. The response is "flat" on the tweeter axis with the control in the "+" ...

Aren't these still used by people like KEF? Obviously not if being discontinued.
