True Colin, but what kind of load did the 101 offer to the amplifier?

Had to laugh at the reference to the BBC device being suitable for a shed... You will not win many friend sthis way Confused , but I also agree on the bass hump in the response of the LS35a.

I now they varied, but which offered the nicest load?
The KEF or t'other?

I remember the early Quad 405s, 100W into a 'resistive' load.
Different story if there was too much reactance offered.

Oh well, back to the Weller, have some slodering to finish...

A nice easy one with a similar plot to the Coda, even though there's more iron in the circuit, the impedance doesn't move out of the 4-8 Ohm range except at resonance.

Well my Chartwell LS3/5a's are Rawlbolted to brick pillars in the garage.

For use domestically I'd have to buy a large glass topped table to model the reflective surface of an AV desk - I don't like glass topped tables Sad .

Nice, that is what I like to hear.
Some of the KEFs exotica in latter years was a sight to behold on the load presented to the poor amplifier.
