Hi everyone; I recently bought 203/2 speakers 2nd hand. No sooner had I started using them than a tweeter blew and I managed to get a repair locally without having to buy a new high/mid unit. But now I find that these uniQ units are out of balance; the one with the repaired tweeter is quieter than the other so they don't sound right. Can anybody suggest what might be the problem please as I'm slowly going crazy and don't want to lug the heavy speakers to the engineer.

Greetings and welcome to the site!

Most of what's discussed in these pages is around more vintage KEF designs (and KEF based systems). These 203/2 speakers are relatively new.

However, in my experience with Uni-Q drivers I have found what you're describing to be a fairly common problem. Easy to blow, fading output over time, difficult to repair, and worst of all not supported very long by the "New Kef".
My best advise to you is return them to the tech who made this repair. Ideally when replacing tweeters I always suggest (when possible) replacing both sides with a well matched pair.

Best of luck, and let us know how you make out with them.
