Never seen before.
But the drivers don't seem to be KEF. Is it really?
Has he opened the cabinet already?

Regards,
Wouter

Shocked ooo er missus 100dB spl's.

We're in the "twilight zone" folks where some of the KEF manufactured BBC monitors with unfamiliar drive units come from.

These are probably one of KEF's professionally oreintated designs, so do vintage disco equipment yearbooks exist? Rolling Eyes

Later on ~1986 you start to find KEF "badge engineered" Quad 520's and Crimson Electrik amplifiers and powered Ref 102's.

Alternatively, because of the price, what big shops ala Harrods or consumer electric chains like Comet or Laskeys existed in France / Belgium?

I'm thinking about the Solavox brand in the UK which were/are Wharfedale designs and Goodmans did something for Harrabs.

If the production run were big enough a country specific design could exist. Shocked

Wouter the vinyl veneered JBL speakers imported into Europe were "voiced" for our ears and AR designed the MST for UK use, as we didn't use lots of big/huge amplifiers like Amcron DC500A's and Phase Linear 700's.
Some of the Japanese manufacturers like Sansui, Pioneer played with voicing for the European ear, as they were originally designed for a pentatonic scale, but only Yamaha with the NS1000 varients suceeded, other Yamaha designs including the NS2000 are very poor in comparison as their sound is more orientally orientated!

They look totally Kosher to me. The woofer's numbering system suggests an Audax unit which would be correct as KEF were producing the Celeste IV, III and Concord III, which used Audax HD100D25 tweeters in this period.

Gosh, is that for real? KEF flirted with Crimson Electrik modules?
Amazing, this site is sure full of surprises.
I still have a few unused modles somewhere.
As far as the Capella, where will it all end?
The first pictures with the speaker clamps are reminiscent of Peerless devices and Bang & Olufsen method of mounting units.
More than I can take in one night...

Loudspeaker voicing still exists for export markets.
Even the latest KEF offerings have slightly different crossovers for the export market to the USA for example.
