Hello,

A friend of mine wants to build a Cresta/CS1 (SP1032 and SP1003).

Therefore, I have these questions:
-Is 8l. the ideal volume for the B110?
-Any crossover recommendations? Use the CS1 crossover?
-Any recmmendations for the internal damping?

Thanks a lot in advance!

Wouter

10l will give you a little more, but I've got plans for a compact 5' transmission line, then there's the Daline in the "links" section. It all depends on how good you are at woodwork Smile .

23aB from Falcon Acoustics is the one I've got in my homebuilds.....

Vitafoam or longe fibre wool depending upon the complexity of design.

Thanks Colin.

I fear that a TL will be too difficult to build and tune. I think that my friend's experience is not enough for these projects.

I will check the crossover recommendation.

Wouter

Any idea where I can find the schematics of this 23ab?
And the design of the DN13 SP1017?

Thanks,
Wouter

Buy a pair from Malcolm Jones, he might include a schematic NOT for redistribution, if you ask nicely.

But as you're into DIY Very Happy.

Take the bass section of the FL6/23 from the LS3/5a site and add an aB tweeter section in place of the tapped inductor/ resistive network.

KEF did this design change on the Corelli btw.

T27 aB section?

+ I--------------0.6uF------I----3R0---I
...I..................................I...............I
+ I-3.3uF--I------ 10uF---I--- 10uF--I--------- -
.................I
...............0.3mH (0R55)..............................T27
.................I
- ------------I--------------------------------------- +

Don't forget to remove the dots Cool .

On "standard" two way KEF Coda, Cantor, Cadenza, etc., boards.

B110 half section, 0.8mH, 6uF.

T27 half section, 5uF, 0.25mH.

Therte is a small section regarding the Acoustic Butterworth filter on the Falcon site: http://www.falcon-acoustics.co.uk/No6-33upgrade.jpg
Ignore the band pass filter for the B110!

I have just found my KEF constructor leaflets for the CS1 & CS2 loudspeakers. Volume is 8 litres. Happy to send copies if anybody needs them.

Hello Andy,

I think the leaflets are also on the site, isn't it?
