I have a pair of KEF Coda speakers. They look are very similar to pictures of original Coda speakers that I have seen, but instead of the cable comming directly out of the back, there are sockets. The inspection label gives a date of 1973. Does anyone have any information about this version. I can send photos or more info.

I had a pair of Coda's from July 1974 with a back plate containing a two pin DIN socket and a pair of 4mm sockets.
I traded up to a boxed pair of 1977 units for £25 and sold the originals for £75 Very Happy .

I suspect the combination backplate was a result of commercial pressures, due to the widespread adoption of the DIN standard for audio connections that occured within Europe at the time and KEF's expanding product line moving into that market. Brits preferred 4mm plugs and sockets, Americans spring loaded monsters.

Celestion and Leak-Wharfedale speakers also started appearing with two pin DIN inputs around this time.
