Hey there,
I've had these speakers for years and they aren't hooked up to anything (Warfedale Dovedale 3 --> 16w/). I want to wire them up because they seem like they could put out some quality sound.
I was hoping it may be possible to hook them up to my computer with all its tunes... But i've also got a Sony RX66 Disc Exchange/Mini Highfi component system.
Is there any hope for me?
Am I going to have to invest big bucks in an amp or something?
Any input would be appreciated.

If your Sony has an "Aux" input you need a stereo 3.5mm jack to two phono socket adapter plugged into your soundcard, a stereo phono lead to the Sony and adapt the leads to the current speakers to the method of input used on the Dovedales.
If not, you have to buy an amplifier, as most soundcards only produce line level signals. Exceptions I suspect can be found amongst the mega-buck Turtle Beach offerings favoured by musicians.

One may be able to find a good used receiver or amp to drive those speakers.

This could be the beginning of something good (as in excellent 2 channel stereo) for you!

Good luck! Smile
