Has anyone had a midrange replaced in this unit or know of a replacement midrange? I have one that refuses to work.

Kef used to offer B110 1209X 4ohm replacement drivers , made under licence by Harbeth.

Hello
ScanSpeak make one (13M/8640 ). It is available from Wilmslow Audio @ ?104 + VAT. Yikes. Worse if you replace all four, though this must be the way forward.
Good luck

Strange, I've just now taken my 104/2 apart and the sticker says B110 SP1190 8ohm...

Altogether now......Oh, no they're not.

The 104|2 was a 4 Ohm "resistive" system so the B110s were almost certainly both 8 Ohm units in parallel, so that you ended up with 4 Ohms after all the extra impedance compensation components.

i don't think you can remove the B110 mids as they are chassis-less. not sure if you can retrofit in aftermarket drivers either. others might know more.

you might just have to keep an eye out on ebay for someone parting out the whole mid/tweeter cabinet. i've seen 3 on there the last 2 months or so. so, they do show up.

see ya,
Robby
