In the past only a few Sad Richard Allan, IMF, Leak, KEF CS9 and Ref 101.

Currently lots Cool .

If you go to the bottom of the first page.

http://www.hifiloudspeakers.info/speakertalk/viewtopic.php?t=418

You've got to add some B&O 5700's and my Stags to that list though Very Happy .

Then there's the fully functional Ditton 25's in the shed waiting for a IMF TLS80 or RSPM owner with blown barrel shaped HF2000's and £80 to take them away.

1) No-names (the cheap throw-away speakers you used to get with a "system" at a stereo store sale). Sound = Yeeech!
2) Pioneer 3 way speakers (forgot the model #). Sound = Yeeech-ier!
3) New Large Advent speakers. Well known for their inexpensive price ($200.00 per speaker) and surprisingly good sound. The old trick was to stack them on top of each other (two pairs, tweeter to tweeter). I liked them - and still have them.
4) Tangent TM1
5) Tangent RS6
6) Unknown Tangent model.
Tangents were made in England and had mostly KEF parts. Probably why they sounded so good.
7) KEF Calindas. Great sounding!
Cool KEF ... err..... small ones. Seems to be a Canada Only version.
9) Unity Audio Fountainhead. "Audiophile" USA speakers. Great imaging, etc. but sound sort of thin to me.
10) Tannoy Berekley's. A great match for my McIntosh tubes.

I do wish, however, that more KEF speakers were available locally.

Well as the collection is far from comprehensive, lacking Celef, Proac, IMF and a few lesser known trade names, due to lack of space Sad .

Probably always the transmission lines, Ref 105-2's, Ref 103-2's, Cantata's and the rest when I'm in the mood to play with a sack truck and box and unbox speakers.

As an aside, a regular Hi-fi News contributor recently commented very favourably on my combination of a ERA6X/SME/Ortofon20E, Quad 44, Crown DC300AmkII and KEF Caprice II's.

Remember it's whatever "floats your boat" and if you want realism go to a live gig, show, festival or concert Smile.

Started off with some DIY jobs using 104AB drivers in a sealed box. Made lots of modifications to them for the years that I had them.

Bought some Mordaunt Short MS10i as a 2nd set of speakers but sold them on to get some larger MS20i speakers. Had a matching centre speaker as well. Unfortunately a dodgy amp burnt out one of the MS20i voice coils.

Started building some 2-Way Audax/Morel Transmission lines which I still have. My favourite speakers.

Built a pair of 3-way Audax bass reflex speakers which were great for the amount I spent on them.

Bought a pair of old KEF Concertos.

Unfortunately I then had a space problem. The Concertos and 3-ways had to go. I kept the drivers for future projects.

Built a pair of bookshelf 2-way speakers using the Audax drivers and an LS3/5A clone using the Concerto drivers. I also built an IPL Sub kit to go with them. The LS3/5A clone has now gone.

I recently bought a pair of KEF Q55s.

Cheers,

Fluff
