The Model Three and especially the Model Four were by far the most dynamic KEF loudspeakers I have ever had here on loan. The Fours were resident for a couple of years and with the Krell never seemed to run out of dynamic range.
Since then I've also briefly reinstated 104aBs, and now own the 104.2.

The speakers which gave me the greatest musical pleasure over the longest time even taking into account their shortcomings were the 104aBs!

I no longer have my huge TLs but a friend is making good use of them now.

Unless another miracle comes along I’ll be quite happy now with the 104.2s.

The only speakers by “KEF” I could not live with at all were the following.
Cantor III, Carina II, Chorale III, Coda III, and the Concord was a massive letdown.
I only owned one of them but cannot remember which, best forgotten…

I had the opportunity to listen to 4.2 and 104/2 in the same room but on different electronics (High end YBA on 4.2 and big Denon HC on 104.2).

4.2 are really impressive. Fast and tight bass. Very nice.

104.2 cannot compare in dynamic, transparency. But..there is something...particularly on voices that I still prefer on 104.2.

104aB in my office and 104.2 in my living room..and I'm happy !

But still would like to listen to 107 and some big TL..

my main KEF-hystorie started with th R104 (which I modified myself to 104ab), the RR104/2 and since 17 years the RR105/3

after some listening in the past I rank the 105/3 between model3 and model4 ...

but whenever I hear the 104ab or a pair of Calinda's again, I do get nostalgic...

in my small study-room I also have a pair of smal Cresta's from 1969, and these speakers can perform outstanding in a smal room with a marantz1030 amp ...
