Hi there all,

I am in the process of removing the bass units from my 104.2's, to get the inner foam dust deals replaced, and have come against a problem. The bottom access panel of each unit is stuck. I have removed all 8 screws, and the 4 spikes, but the panel remains stuck. Has anyone come up against this problem, and how did you get the panel off.

Hope someone can help.

Paul

Has anyone? Yup. Of the 2 pairs that I've had to remove the bottoms of to get at the drivers for dust cap replacement one set had a side that was very tough to deal with.
I used a hairdryer. There's some kind of gunk in there, I wouldn't call it glue it's more like plasticine and it can harden like cement. The hairdryer , a thin blade stiff scrapper, and lots of patience got the job done. Standing the cabinet on its end makes this less tiresome.
Short patience = chipped panels BTW.
