I have heard that the Morel CAT298, 1" soft dome is an modern drop in replacement for the T27, having the same mounting hole positions & superior performance. Has anyone tried this & is there any changes to the Xover required??

Hmmm.
Specifications of the Vifa 27SG29-04 don't quite meet the criteria for a T-27 replacement.
4 ohms nominal. 3 ohms DCR. Q factors totally different. A whopping 93.5dB sensitivity rating.
No ... I think some serious crossover adjustments would be required if intended as a "drop in replacement" for a T-27. IF it's even possible.

Yes, I agree that the Vifa 27SG29-04, does not stack up as a plausible option, however, the Vifa D27TG35-06 does & has, i believe, been used successfully. It is also considerably cheaper than the Morel, but having a 4 hole mounting flange it is not the "drop in", replacement that the Morel is.

What KEF system with the T-27's are looking to find replacements for?

Don't know if it's of any interest to you but I have a pair of early T-27's ... SP 6340 I believe. Now those are "drop in replacements", albeit without the same power handling.
If interested PM me and I'll dig them out.

Thanks for the offer T.O. Chef, but I was looking to not only replace the T27s, but to improve on their performance with a modern, superior, tweeter.
