|
|
Hello,
I am a new member and I am from France (sorry for my poor english). Despite this very negative point, I got a pair of KEF 105/4 one week ago, after a month of thinking about it.
Now the speakers are at home, yes !
But right now I have a lot of questions about KEF in general and the 105/4 in particular.
I am starting slowly with the first one. I am able to find some informations about KEF 104, 105 or 105/2 or other model, but there is only very few informations about the 105/4. Is there any problem with this model ? Is it the bad one ?
(maybe the pic is a bit to large) |

Welcome to the world of real KEF.
You have some classic loudspeakers, enjoy! _________________ I contend that for a nation to try to tax itself into prosperity is like a

Well, you're welcome.
In fact, I am very happy to read this forum where I can find a lot of informations about the KEF from 70s & 80s.
I have the 105/4 for a week. Before to buy, I asked myself during one month if it was a good pair of speakers and worth the price.
I searched a lot on the internet some information about the 105/4 but it's not a very popular subject, less popular than wikileak for example.
I also searched in my old french audio review (La Nouvelle Revue Du Son) but the 105/4 was never reviewed.
So I am happy to contribute about KEF Speakers from 80s. I have another set of pictures, close up. _________________ http://www.tvcaudio.com/tvc/index.html |

The units from here seem to be in superb condition considering their age... what camera are you using? _________________ I contend that for a nation to try to tax itself into prosperity is like a

Thank you. Canon, Nikkon : I did not have the choice. Canon was the "official family brand" and I've done like father... _________________ http://www.tvcaudio.com/tvc/index.html |

Good enough for NASA and we are off topic here... the administrator will slap our wrists. Let us get back to those gorgeous KEFs! _________________ I contend that for a nation to try to tax itself into prosperity is like a

Well, to be back in the subject, I've write "a lot of questions" in the topic subject.
I live in an oooold flat and the floor is not exactly flat : the casters under the speakers are not ok for me. I want to keep the casters on the speakers because I do not want to loose them, but I would like to use some kind of feet to put the speakers on them. I've read on the forum about plinth... I am going to investigate...
Is there any schematic of the xover of the 105/4 somewhere ? Is there any informations about each cable on the connector for the head ?
I opened the bass cabinet and found very thin cable, even for the bass drivers. I understood it's not an affair, ok ok.
Also, on the other part of this website (http://www.hifiloudspeakers.info) some links are broken, for example the one for the KEF Naming Convention.
Are you interested by a few french KEF documents ? I am going to open a new topic, I have 4 pages about the 104 in french... _________________ http://www.tvcaudio.com/tvc/index.html |
