I ordered a pair of C30 from Ebay US weeks ago and they arrived today. Yet, one of them sounds great and normal whereas the other comes with paint chipping off from the lower edge of the dish. It can only produce half of the volume of the other one. Worse still, while music is playing, that speaker produces rustling sound, which is most evident when the volume is on low level. I asked the seller and he said he'd checked thoroughly and they sounded great when tested. Could it be damaged when being shipped to my country, Japan?

Could someone HELP ME! PLEASE!!! What can I do now? Can I buy some kits and fix it myself?

I've uploaded some pictures so you can tell what's wrong.

That looks well and truly bodged to me, the seller is either deaf and or a liar!

That woofer needs a recone. I cannot see how that type of damage could be due to transit. Raise a complaint on the auction website and try to get some money back.

Hello Speakerguru,

Thank you for your suggestion. Could you please tell me how I can do it myself? Where can I buy the suitable material to fix it?

Many Thanks

Sorry, no. I'm not au fait with what KEF Audio (UK) can provide these days, nor am I up to date on what independant repairers are in business or how good they are. (I'm also away on holiday with very limited wi-fi)

Can anyone else help?

I have not used these but they have a good reputation.
I'll post others if I can still find them.
