In the Netherlands was since the 1970's a brand, named Audiolab, that used Kef speakers in it's designs, mostly the B139B with other drivers for mid and treble. They are still in business, but now as a repairshop for speaker units for all brands. It is a no-nonsense company, no biwire, they do not believe in it, they use fabric heugavelt floortiles and old wool for damping. Their design's where very musical and very well build. Shame that they don't make speakers anymore.
I had the model 'Prisma' , B139B, Vifa 17 cm mid, and the famous Philips bandtweeter AD21600RT8. The B139 had 2 'aperiodische' ports, this works as an shock absorber and is different than a normal bass reflex system. Result is a clean and deeper bassnote, size was about 110 cm height.
Their biggest model was the REM (short for Room Equalized Monitor), 155 cm high, 160 liters, also a B139B but with an Vifa 25 cm woofer inside, who works in conjuction with the B139B, deep and clean bass was the result. Mid was dynaudio, metal tweeter from Heco. Also has this speaker a adjustable filter to compensate the room where it is standing.
