Does anybody have experience about Quad 50 or other transformer coupled solidstate amps. Quad 50 amps use output transforemers for proper load matching. Also choke input filter for smoothing HV is from valve amp period.

Otherwise they seems to be quite close to solidstate eqvivalents of classic Willimson amp with cathodefollowers before otput devices. Consquently circuity topology is more complicated than Quad II:s. Output stage symmetry is propably very good due similar otputdevices on both phase.

It would be nice if you can share your experience with this amplifier with us.
