I have been looking into going active with (possibly) my KEF 104aB's or adding 2 subwoofers to a pair of Wilmslow CS1. I have bought one of these.

http://www.minidsp.com/products/minidspkits/2-x-in-4-x-out.

Just for fun I dialled in a bass lift to my 104aB and hey presto! ridiculously extended LF. Now obviously this needs to be done with care but the concept could be applied to any speaker, so why not use it as a Kube replacement?

Why not indeed? All you need is the Kube curve I suppose.

I would be interested in a 2 channel 44kHz SPDIF in/out version to do away with preamp and tone controls - perfect!
