I have used the following CD:s to evaluate audio equipment quite frequently, maybe too frequently...

Francis Albert Sinatra & Antonio Carlos Jobim.
This is Reprise 20-bit digitally remastered Nice Price offering, bought maybe 5 years ago. Very nice sound quality, even it is not any audiophile record.

Bill Wyman´s Rhythm Kings Double Bill, Ripple Records
This is nice double CD from 2001. Many famous 60:s and also younger top musicians performing various R&B tunes with taste. Nice analoque sound, bass makes most speakers sound too warm... but anyway... highly recommended.

Mavis Staples, We´ll Never Turn Back, Anti
Ry Cooder produced this record in 2007. Sound of this record is modern and precise. Cooder does have his merits, but this time Mavis has got it all right.

Dorian Sampler vol 2 and Jean Guillou Pictures At An Exhibition
Both CD from late 80`s. Recordings have nice presentation sound and fine ambience. I hope these recordings have been reissued, as these transfers were made by quite primitive converters.

Best Regards,

Fleetwood Mac "Rumours" is lovely and uncompressed. "Songbird" is a beautiful piece of music. I find the subtle difference in reproduction of this piece by my 103.2's and Cantata's interesting - I have no particular preference, though the piano has more "edge" via Cantata (due to T52 hard dome maybe?) and Christine McVie's voice has a touch more warmth and timbre played through the 103.2's... to my ears anyway. Ho Hum.

With a name like Sloop John B, you must be a Beach Boys fan. What do you think of the new album?
