I have had this idea to build 230VAC mains outlet with ground connection at CT of 230VAC mains for very long time. This should have considerably lower mains borne noise, as line filters will perform quite much better if impedance from live to ground is quite similar to neutral to ground.

However isolationtransformer with centertapped 230VAC secondary is needed for this purpose. When primary is used as usual and CT of 230VAC secondary is connected to ground, you have balanced 230VAC mains feed for your audio.

Finding 1000VA isolation transformer with electrostatic shield between primary and secondary and 230VAC secondary with CT (or 115V + 115V) seems a bit broblematic. I asked week ago if Vigortronix were able to add CT or shield to their 182 or 176 series transformers... but I have not received any reply.

If anybody does have any further idea to assist this issue, your advice is appriciated. Also any info, about supliers for this kind of transformer in northern europe, is most welcome.

Best Regards

Kimmo
