Hi there, I am new to this forum but have been lurking for a little while.

I need some good advice regarding replacement inductors in the Kef Cadenza SP1019/DN14 crossover network as I would like to build new crossovers from scratch.

The confusion centres around air cored v iron cored. Is it possible or even worthwhile to replace the existing iron cored with air cored of the same value?

I would appreciate some expert advice.

Many thanks

AndyW

See the sticky post at http://www.hifiloudspeakers.info/speakertalk/viewtopic.php?t=1632
It is very difficult to keep the size, copper losses and inter - inductor coupling down using air cores.
