40 years of difference between these speakers, it is fun to know that Calinda sound better than the Monitor Audio Modern.

They seem to be the best sounding Calinda since they change the capacitors.

I think now only sold aesthetics and sound quality not that think?

It's funny how I recall comments on the press when Calinda was reviewed. It was along the lines: It still sounds great, even though the woofer is fake, perhaps because the midrange is oversized.

Thanks for your comments. On occasion I think I should purchase modern speakers to build a 5.1 system but then I come to my senses! Smile

Hello friends, I have not written here for some time, although I always read you.
I already have a few years ago Calinda, later have entered several home speakers (Yamaha NS 645, Akai Sr1400, TR, Monitor Audio RX8, Fisher, Marantz), and some more that I do not remember.

Well Calinda the best of all, they just resemble the MA, and do not approach that special sound of Calindas.

Well I have decided to try to get a Cantata, because I have the Corelli, Las Calinda and I only miss the Cantata.

I imagine that the sound of Cantata will be better than that of Calinda, not someone, who can advise me?

I apologize for the translation (Sorry)

Greetings and thanks for reading ........................... I am happy with Calinda.
Very Happy Wink Very Happy Very Happy Very Happy Smile Very Happy Very Happy

The KEF Calinda is an excellent loudspeaker, but to my ears the Cantata has a more refined bass and much faster on transients. It has been too long ago to make further comments regarding all the attributes of both loudspeakers. Overall for accuracy I would vote for the Cantata.
Many years ago I missed a bargain when a perfect pair were offered to me for only £100!!! Like an idiot I did not grab that bargain, regretted it ever since... Sad

If you like the Calinda, you will love the Cantata. I did this exact change, what Proffski says is very true. They are like a Spendor BC1 on steroids, Great midrange and a huge kick in the bottom end.

Thanks andre for the opinion, before starting to search Cantata wanted to know opinion of owners and people who have heard.

Thanks again, I'll let you know if I buy them. Wink Laughing
