Hello all,

has anybody ever tried to copy a Linn Kan?
If yes:
Which units did you use?
Which xover?
How was the woodwork done?
And: did it sound like a Kan?

I like the Kan's but I do not find them very regularly second hand.
Also, I think I prefer the latest incarnation (Kan II with Ku-stone)
and that makes it even more difficult to find.
If I am going to build something I do not care about which units I use (do not have to be KEF B110 bass (sorry)).
But I want the Kan sound.

If people have schematics of the xover (does not matter which version) then I like a copy.

Any suggestions are welcome!

Greetings, Hans

Hans, you seem to have your heart set on the lousy KAN sound. Ok theuy will be louder than the LS35a, but not accurate. I think that either Wilmslow Audio, or Falcon Acoustics will be able to help. Try HART ELECTRONICS for ready made cabinets.

The original Kan used SCANSPEAK tweeters, but I am not sure which model. The later Kan used a very complicated crossover, which made it more accurate, but robbed the speaker from its attack and forward nature. Watch this space...
