Hi everybody!! I'm neebee here and i'm living in Paris, France!!
I've been in the speaker Diy for about 35 years, and as a semi-pro for 10 years with my pal who owns Audio-Reference , a french speakers company. Now i'm retired from pro business.

I'm looking for a pair of Celestion HF 2006 speakers, for rebuilding Ditton 66 MkII speakers...
HF 2006 are an evolution of the well known HF 2000 supertweeter, it has the same mylar dome, same grille but ferrite magnet and 108 mm aluminium frame.
if you put a Kef T27 and a HF 2006 side by side, you could swear for a definite family look!
so before using T27 speakers, I'll rather try and find the orignals...
err...a pair of HF2000 would be considered too!

Thanks for any input or link .

Joseph

The Celestion HF2000 was either used with a 6 or 12dB/octave filter when partnered with a T27.
The 15 Ohm Coles 4001G with a 12dB/octave filter was the usual alternative.
As both Coles units are good from around 3KHz, with a crossover frequency of 5kHz you could try an 8 Ohm Coles 4001K.

Thanks colin!
That was my third alternative, Ive mailed Coles electroacoustics for a quote...
only concern is the overal diametre of the 4001, will fit loose in the celestion cabinet!

Yes you'll have to make some shims of some kind.

The Coles driver has just a slightly larger diameter than the original rear mounted Celestion HF2000 used in the IMF TLS80.

so back to the subject
could not find a suitable pair of hf 2006, the coles would not work, so I bought a pair of HF 2000.
great sound however, much better than the Audax HD100D25 I tried before.
I presume there in not much a difference between the '2000 and the 2006, the most obvious one being the magnet sise.
