Well, it keeps me busy....

The standmounter is my take on the Ls3/5a's bigger brother, using the same tweeter but replacing the B110 with a B200 and a consequently bigger cabinet. The cabinet is heavily damped (like the Ls3/5). Crossover-wise, at the moment it's being run passive using an old Wilmslow audio unit, but I'm intending to either run it active or build a proper external crossover (a la circable).

Cheers!
Adrian

Is that an old EMI eliptical bass unit I see in the picture?

Yes, it comes out of the B+W DM3 that I'm restoring.

Cheers

Heard my first Bowers & Wilkins Domestic Monitor 3 in late 1969.
EMI only made one decent drive unit in my opinion and the one in the DM3 is it! Those cabinets are damned heavy...

Made out of 13ply!

Some were "badge engineered" for SONY, so look out for the silver and blue metal badges Cool .

Ah, "Badge Engineered" for Sony just like that magnificent DM70 Continental... I reckon the most accurate and fastest bass I have ever heard from any moving coil loudspeaker ever! As for the electrostatic panel... Shame that power handling was so small, it gave MKI Quad 405s several heart attacks to boot!
