I made a pair of these in the 80s and they have recently been resurrected to the kitchen. They sound very good, I split the crossover and used polypropyline capacitors throughout. I also ported them on a whim, and it works - bass! loads of it and very nice it is too.
Anyone else made these? Comparisons with the LS3/5a?

I see that the crossover designs for the KEF Kit CS1 and CS1A are reasonably similar. The response curve for the CS1A does show a mild bass hump as in the LS35a. I was surprised however by the vastly different impedance curves, hmm.

On closer examination the response curves for the CS1A wre taken 2 degrees above the horizontal reference axis, on the CS1 2 degrees below.
